i veered off course this week….my usual new york city design center trip was diverted to washington dc…..home to my mom's best friend, my sister's godmother, and one of the most hip, stylish, and fun women i know! and how lucky of us to stay at her awesome place at THE WATERGATE!
sadly, there were no "star sightings" during my stay at the watergate….. and the residents like their privacy so i promised not to mention any names…...but OMG, the dc celebs that call this place home…OMG!!!
however, DIANE VON FURSTENBERG did make an appearance here-keep reading!!!
the style?
like i said, "our host" has amazing taste! she mixed a high end cosmopolitan vibe with comfortable casual and a slight hint of contemporary. although we are sitting on some pretty nice fabrics, i can't help but feel totally relaxed-very comfy big city retreat!
DIANE VON FURSTENBUG sat in this chair!! or at least her fabric sample did :-)….Wayne at the Kravet showroom gave me a sneak peak at DIANE'S collection for KRAVET that had just arrived….this one already found a new home at THE WATERGATE!! can't wait to see these chairs reupholstered-wow!
cool stuff to look at here... this beautiful bowl was given to "our host" from my absolutely favorite president ever AND her old boss PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN…….love it on her bookcase in the living room. i feel like I'm in a museum!

and the views……not so bad -especially with some pinot!! great view of the KEY BRIDGE from the terrace.
and how can you not love having your morning coffee on this beautiful veranda? i may not leave THE WATERGATE!
